Mycroft felt a little bad as he hadn't heard him at the door.
He might have been there for quite awhile seeing as My had been in his study in his city flat.
He wandered over and opened it and got the meanest look for such a lack of respect.
"Terribly sorry Montmorency."
He got no response and he shut the door behind him and he simply sauntered past Holmes.
Holmes watched him awhile and then returned to the bedroom to fetch his laptop and then sat in his usual seat in the living room.
Montmorency occasionally simply turned up and stayed awhile before disappearing again, but Mycroft always thought of him as his.
Barely a few minutes later Montmorency managed to skilfully sneak under Mycroft's arm and replace the laptop on his lap, draping over him on his back. Mycroft looked down in mild amusement.
"You are a terrible distraction, I hope you know that."
Montmorency pawed at him lightly and wriggled, begging for attention that Mycroft was all too happy to give.
"You are simply terrible." He repeated happily and stroked the sleek, green-eyed tuxedo cat and smiled as it started to purr loudly and appreciatively.

((I had thought so until the second paragraph But I love you for this! I love cats~ In fact, I've got one doing almost exactly what you've written... just a couple seconds ago. She got up -.-))
(hehe.....Jeremy has a cat too. I've gone cat-crazy. 0_o )
((Well, the Moriartys are pretty much cats themselves, so they're definitely cat people too Hence, Koren and Shercat, I suppose.))
(.....I use to be a dog person too...hated cats. Now i am inbetween....but Akira (grey striped, jeremy's) and Montmorency and there may be a third....Aristotle, the grey and white impossibly fluffy smug philosopher type)
((Ha! I love it. I've always been a cat person, possibly even picked up a few of the mannerisms of my own cat because we got her when I was six, I think, and we've always had cats in the house before that... so yeah. We have dogs too, but I simply cannot abide in little dogs. They make me want to kick things...))
(indeed, but they breed dogs all wrong now.....i was brought up round cats and dogs but mostly with a single collie called Nelly. Most patient greedy thing in existence. )
